Can’t I just use AI to build my own website?
Sure, you could. Tools got good fast. You can prompt a layout, paste in your phone number, and have something online by dinner. For a temporary page or a personal experiment, that can be enough.
A business site has a job: help nearby customers find you, trust you, and call or book. Generated pages often look fine in a screenshot and go soft in real use. Vague copy. A layout you have already scrolled past on three other shops. Nobody on the hook when the form stops working on a Saturday.
Your shop is not a template. Someone still has to keep the domain pointed, update hours, and answer why it looks weird on a phone. AI does not pick up.
Use it if you need a quick one-pager, you are testing an idea, or you enjoy tinkering. Bring it to us when the site has to represent a real business: clear pages, phones first, a fixed price, and a person who built it.
